Frederick Stebbins, a former citizen of Waveland, died at his  home in Terre Haute at noon on Thursday of last week. He had been  in poor health for a number of years but grew much worse about  two weeks before his death. Funeral services at the home on  Saturday morning at ten in charge of Dr. Beck a Methodist  minister. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sharp, Ira sharp and Margaret Louise,  Hubert Loudermill and Doris and Mrs. Elmer Dietrich were present  from Waveland. The body was brought here immediately after and  buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery. A short service at the grave was  conducted by Rev. H. J. Keiser. Mr. Stebbins was born in St.  Louis, Michigan, seventy-one years ago. While a resident there he  married Miss Cora Richardson. One child survives of this union,  Mrs. Helen Twiss of Sturgis, Michigan. Mrs. Stebbins died in  Waveland where Mr. Stebbins was then in business. After her  death, he married Miss Gertie Hendrickson, who survives him with  two children, Thomas, of Terry Haute and Mrs. Eugene Buckley, of  Hammond. There are two grandson, George Fred Twiss and Bobby Gene  Buckley. Mr. Stebbins was engaged in the drug business the  greater part of his life, having stores in Waveland, Montezuma,  Hillsboro, Brownsburg and at the time of his death, in Terre  Haute. He also was for some time in the hotel business. He built  the brick hotel here after a fire and it was long known at Hotel  Stebbins. He ran the Crawfords Hotel at Crawfordsville for a year  and had charge of the Shades and Pleasant View. Mrs. Stebbins  will continue to live in Terre Haute, where her some, Thomas is  employed in the Binkley Wholesale Drug House.
